2018-19 SEASON OVERVIEW

Welcome to Musica Viva NY’s 2018-19 season!

Through a combination of stirring performances and highly original programs, our concerts are designed to offer profound musical experiences. This season offers a fascinating mixture of beloved masterworks and contemporary compositions, choral and instrumental music, special collaborations, and an exciting world premiere. Highlights include a concert commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I (with a co-commission for choir and orchestra by acclaimed American composer Joseph Turrin); a concert spotlighting Aeolus Quartet, our quartet-in-residence; a joyous celebration of the 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth; a performance of Poulenc’s Organ Concerto with esteemed organist Renée Anne Louprette; and a performance of Duruflé’s beloved Requiem. To enhance your experience of the music, join us at our pre-concert talks one hour before each concert. Due to planned renovation work at All Souls, our choral concerts in 2019 will be performed at The Brick Church on Park Avenue and the Aeolus Quartet will perform at the Bohemian National Hall. Every evening we have planned promises to be an extraordinary experience; we encourage you to get your subscription tickets and mark your calendars today!
