2022-23 SEASON OVERVIEW

In its 2022-2023 season Musica Viva NY aims to bring back the power, excitement and beauty that marked its performances before the pandemic.

All four concerts will be performed at All Souls Church, Musica Viva NY’s concert home, which is now gloriously restored.

To start the season, we are excited to present the Aeolus Quartet in a beautifully diverse program of Antonín Dvořák, Jessie Montgomery and Florence Price. In October we will be performing the imposing Carmina Burana alongside a beloved composition by Johannes Brahms. In March a program of intimate and soothing pieces by Pärt, Lang, Burhans and Whitacre will invite us to look inward into the depths of our soul. Lastly, to close the season we will be presenting two masterworks: the eternally beloved Mass in G by Franz Schubert and the luminous Lux Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen. In this program Musica Viva NY will also be premiering a work it has commissioned from the deeply spiritual composer Richard Einhorn.
